EtsyInspired #97 – Mermaid’s Tears & Denami Design!

Saturday, July 17, 2010 0:01

This week’s shop is Mermaid’s Tears – makers of beautiful handcrafted sea glass jewelry!  Sea glass alone is beautiful, but after Bett has finished working with these magical pieces from the sea, they are stunning!  Here’s a short excerpt from the shop’s intro:

“The legend of Mermaid’s Tears says that the tears (or sea glass) were created by mermaids who sobbed for the tears of sailor’s lost at sea. As their tears hit the water, they turned to these magical pieces of frosted glass. Lovingly nurtured by the ocean; tossed and churned; pounded by surf and rumbled across pebbles to create an amazing piece of beautiful history.”

One winner will receive a $25 credit to spend in the store!

Deets: Summer for Fun by The {Stamps} of Life, ribbon, string, clouds (cut from DP) and blue cardstock from the Caffinated Cropper Pocket Full of Sunshine kit.  The beach ball is colored with Copics and the surf board is paper pieced with Washi tape from Happy Tape.

And as if that wasn’t enough, our sponsor this week is Denami Design!  Super cute rubber stamps, accessories, tutorials, ideas, tips, publications and more!  Denami Design is sponsoring a $30 credit to spend in their store to one winner!

Love Hurts…

Tuesday, July 13, 2010 19:14

E.A.D. is hosting an argyle color challenge over on their blog.  Love hurts (sometimes!), but shopping at E.A.D. does NOT!  Fun vinyl, stickerz and more at affordable prices, and now available at Paper Maniac too!

So the challenge was to use the colors in the argyle pattern provided – black, grey, pink and white.  I decided to take the challenge literally and created my own argyle pattern in Photoshop and used some E.A.D. vinyl I got in a Torendi kit to make this retro chic square card.  I added some bling in the eyes of the skull and I sponged chipboard hearts.  Hope you like!

You have until July 31st to play along! Everyone who does gets a 25% off coupon!  AND the winner gets a $20 Gift Certificate! YEA!

A big shout out to E.A.D!

Practicing Creativity Sketch Challenge – The Sky’s the Limit

Monday, July 5, 2010 19:10

So Courtney issued a sketch challenge over on her blog with the release of her new set “My Beach House“.  You have until July 15th to play along and could win $50 to spend in the store!

I used the first sketch here and created this card using one of Courtney’s sets, “Look Up“.  This set is so fun and versatile!  I love that I got to use it today!

The ribbons on the sides isone of my favs and I have no idea who makes it! It was from my stash and I used the last bit of it… I used the SU scallop punch and some cloud paper from my Caffinated Cropper kit.  Stamps are Practicing Creativity’s Look Up. Red and blue is one of my fav color combos right now. I hope I pulled it off well on this card!

Thinking of Hoo… and EBTKS!

Monday, July 5, 2010 8:56

I am so glad I got to play the EBTKS challenge this time!  This challenge was an “Around the House Challenge” to use aluminum foil!  Our EIC sponsor this week is Pink Cat Studio and I saw these two cute owls and had to buy a digi to try out.  I embossed my aluminum foil with my Cuttlebug wood grain folder and silver embossed the MFT sentiment.

Friday, July 2, 2010 22:51

I am so excited to play along in the Torendi Creativity Challenge! I love me those Torendi girls and I aspire to be as creativity as they are by subscribing to the kit of the month. Let me tell you, it NEVER disappoints!  Each month the kits are chock full of fun, trendy, hot items to create with. The only thing missing is your personal touch!

So I was inspired by this picture and used the black mesh texture:

This picture for colors:

And this picture for content:

To create THIS:

My card uses card stock, ribbon, button, black cord and a Bam Pop frame from my Torendi kits of the month.  Other items use are real chop sticks and cover, chinese coins and colored staples.

***SCROLL DOWN FOR THE EIC #94 CHALLENGE POST***

It’s been so long since I have participated in one of Mandy’s challenges so I’m super excited I finally got to! You can check out the sketch challenge here. The twist was to use string. I used my Caffinated Cropper kit, Pocket Full of Sunshine.  This kit is chock full of goodies galore!  I had so much fun scrutinizing its contents for this challenge!  All items used on the card come from the kit except for the white Nenah classic card stock.  Let me tell you the Feltworks felt pieces in aqua and cheddar are luscious and luxurious!  I am in LOVE with it!  Anyway, hope you enjoy my card!  And make sure you check out Limelight Papercrafts store for all kinds of goodies and sales!
